Cast Stone $12995.00

Let's start with an overview of this industry and its product.

Cast stone, also known as "artificial stone," is a lightweight concrete product.
The light weight is achieved by using an extremely lightweight aggregate.

There are several advantages to using cast stone instead of natural stone--both for the homeowner and the builder/mason.

One big advantage is cost. Natural stone generally requires a footer to support
the enormous weight. Footers cost money. Natural stone takes a lot of work and time to install. Time is money.

Cast stone, on the other hand, is so lightweight that it can be stuck on the wall with a coat of mortar. That means that it installs in less than half the time of natural stone.

So, when you consider saving the cost of footers, and cutting back on the time the mason needs to install the stone, the savings can be considerable.

Another advantage is consistency. Cast stone is flat on the back, making it much easier to install. Size and shape, while varied, is more consistent than natural stone.

Variety and customization. Cast stone can be manufactured in many colors, and with a basic knowledge of the process, you can custom color your product for the customer who is willing to pay a bit extra.

The cast stone industry appears to be dominated by several large players like Cultured Stone, El Dorado, and a few others. In reality, there is plenty of room for the smaller company that is willing to take the time to produce a quality product.

One thing that fascinates me about this industry is that not only can you create a product that looks more natural and wears better than the stuff the "big boys" churn out, but you can even compete with them on price!

The one thing you can't compete on is quantity. As a small operator, you'll want to limit your production to around 500 square feet per day. (The average customer tends to purchase around 200 square feet per house.) But that's not a problem, because with just 300 square feet of molds, you can easily net more than 6 figures per year!

Your stone will cost $2.00 or less per square foot to manufacture, including materials, labor, utilities, equipment depreciation, etc.. Depending on several factors, you could get it down to under $1.50/square foot.

Your competition is selling their product from $6.00-11.00/square foot, and I've seen costs as high as $17.00/square foot including installation!

Oh, and here's another neat thing about cast stone--if the economy starts a downturn, and new housing starts to decline, you won't be affected. People who can't afford a new home will often remodel their existing home to upgrade it. Your product is perfect for remodeling projects--both interior and exterior.

You wil manufacture stone like products using the latest technologies and formulations. You will be responsible for creating styles and forms to cast original cast stone veneers. Learn to mix varied formulas to achieve realalistic looking stone veneers - colors – shapes a whole lineup of products that builders, contractors, Retailers and even do-it-yourselfers will want to purchase for their next project. Material cost as low as .30 cents per square foot and retail selling price as high as $7.00 – $11.00 per square foot.

With our equipment we can go from idea to finished product in one day! This has tremendous potential.
